Barbara first learned of the Lighthouse through her daughter who is DeafBlind and has worked at the Lighthouse for 27 years. She joined the Foundation Board in 2015 and has served a term as President. Barbara is a passionate advocate both locally and nationally for people with disabilities – she is a founding member of the National Association for the DeafBlind and served six years as a governor appointed member of the Washington State Special Education Advisory Council. She is a percussionist in the Bellevue Community Band, and enjoys spending her time traveling, quilt making, biking, and doing water aerobics.
