The Lighthouse for the Blind, Inc. was honored to recognize Congresswoman Cathy McMorris Rodgers for her long-time support of our organization, the AbilityOne Program, and advocating for the rights of people with disabilities to live their lives the way they choose.
Rep. McMorris Rodgers has served as the House Representative for Washington States fifth district since 2005. We are grateful that she has taken time to visit our facility several times over the last 20 years. The Lighthouse has also frequently visited her office in the other Washington, and always appreciated her and her staff’s kindness and support as an AbilityOne Champion!
As a person whose son, Cole, lives with down syndrome, the Congresswoman understands and knows the capabilities of those with a disability. She knows that people who are blind deserved to work and live the American dream.
We very much appreciate Rep. McMorris Rodgers and look forward to future collaboration with her and her next venture. We also hope the Congresswoman appreciated her Golden E-Tool.
The E-Tool is a collapsible shovel we produce in Spokane, WA for the U.S. Military. As a supporter of the Lighthouse and the Military, we thought she would enjoy this particular gift, as Lighthouse employees love producing equipment for our country’s warfighters.
Thank you so much Congresswoman McMorris Rodgers!
