Twinkling lights, evergreen garlands, and a 20’ Christmas tree set the tone of this year’s Lighthouse Donor Appreciation Breakfast. Held at the magnificent Sunset Club on First Hill, this year’s breakfast was an intimate and festive gathering.

The Donor Breakfast is one way we like to say thank you to those who support our mission. This year’s breakfast was held in the ballroom of the Sunset Club, whose Georgian-style architecture and décor radiates a sense of elegance. The Sunset Club has a long history with the Lighthouse dating back to the 1920s, when our Board of Trustees meetings were hosted there by then Board member, Mrs. Helen Blumenthal.

Guests found at their places a beautifully boxed 2016 Lighthouse holiday ornament in the shape of an E-tool, one of the signature products produced at the Lighthouse for the U.S. Military. This is the second year in a row that the Lighthouse’s holiday ornament has been made in-house by employees at our Seattle facility.

Following a sumptuous breakfast, guests were treated to a program featuring Foundation Board President Barbra Ross, Lighthouse Contact Center Representative Robert Studebaker, and Donor Relations Manager Troy Coalman. Each speaker thanked donors and shared personal stories about the Lighthouse. “We thank those who support us year round; it is an incredible time to celebrate our philanthropic ties and our commitment to the Lighthouse mission,” Troy reflected.

“What an amazing way to start off the holiday season by celebrating the many gifts of the Lighthouse,” recalled Barbara Ross. In this season of giving the Lighthouse thanks all those who support our mission and wishes for everyone a joyous start to the New Year.
