Dustin Bradford celebrated becoming the first visually impaired plant manager for The Lighthouse for the Blind, Inc. by purchasing a new acoustic guitar. Since 2009, Dustin has brought a fun loving and positive outlook to his work. After nearly ten years in manufacturing, and more than a year of working with current management in Spokane and Seattle, Dustin was promoted to Plant Manager and is putting his own spin on the role.

Dustin’s positive outlook, flexibility, and creativity proved vital to navigate the challenge that COVID-19 created.

Dustin says, “I accepted it for what it is. It was out of my control. The doors were open, the lights were on, so manage it.”

Dustin empowers employees to excel even in challenging circumstances, and his leadership propelled the Lighthouse to produce its one millionth wallboard in June. This amazing milestone really brought inspiration and a well-deserved feeling of accomplishment to the entire facility.

Dustin is looking forward to continuing work to provide essential products for our U.S. Military during this time, and learning some new tunes on his guitar!
