The Lighthouse for the Blind, Inc. is thrilled to announce a two-year partnership with the City of Renton to provide empowering Lighthouse Low Vision Services to Renton residents with low vision or other visual impairments.

Lighthouse Low Vision Services

Through this partnership, the Lighthouse Low Vision Services team consisting of a resident optometrist, occupational therapist, and independent living skills providers will provide Renton residents with functional vision assessments, low vision rehabilitation services, and independent living services. The Lighthouse has a comprehensive, on-site Low Vision Clinic as well as a Low Vision Store with innovative assistive tools and devices available for purchase. The Lighthouse is one of the only in-depth secondary providers of low vision care in our region.

City of Renton’s Generous Partnership

The Lighthouse is grateful for the City of Renton’s generous partnership, which is helping provide critical care for Renton residents with low vision, helping them to live independently, sustain meaningful work, and remain in their own homes and communities. More than 2,000 Renton residents have visual impairments, and the Lighthouse is proud to offer essential low vision care and resources to individuals of all ages in the community.

Please note that a referral from a primary care provider is required for consultation with the resident optometrist, but other services are available by appointment upon request.
