About the Speakers

Cheryl Cumings is The Lighthouse for the Blind, Inc.’s Workforce Development Manager. Cheryl works with Lighthouse employees who are blind, DeafBlind, blind with other disabilities to facilitate their exploration of career growth. Cheryl brings her background in community outreach, health care policy and blindness services to her current role. She is a former Peace Corps Volunteer and the founder of a nonprofit that provided blind students with recreational and career exploration programs.

Tim Paulding is the Lighthouse for the Blind, Inc. Employment and Community services and Instructional Manager. Tim is certified as an Orientation and mobility Specialist and a Vision Rehabilitation therapist. Tim gives mobility instruction, assistive technology training and blindness awareness workshops to Lighthouse staff. He previously provided assistive technology and adaptive aids assessments, consultation and trainings for groups and individuals through the Spokane school  district, private agencies and the Michigan, Idaho and Washington agencies serving people who are blind. Tim leads the Lighthouse’s monthly technology webinar.
