On Thursday January 11th, The Lighthouse for the Blind, Inc. celebrated ten years of employment opportunities for people who are blind in the Spokane area. The Decade of Opportunities Breakfast greeted us with a cold snowy morning but that didn’t stop over 85 supporters from joining us at the Spokane Club.

We were honored to have young entrepreneur Alex Knoll as our guest speaker for the event. Alex shared his wonderful creation Ability App with the group, and inspired everyone in the room. Lighthouse employee, Mark Shively, also shared his personal journey and his struggle with finding employment after losing his vision. Once Mark learned about the Lighthouse, he was so excited to get back into the workforce!
