Seattle Lighthouse for the Blind Foundation holds responsibility for creating opportunities for the community to charitably support the mission of The Lighthouse for the Blind, Inc.

We are dedicated to creating and enhancing opportunities for independence and self-sufficiency of people who are blind, Deaf-Blind, or blind with other disabilities.  Our mission addresses the ongoing challenges of working age adults who are blind.  The unemployment rate for blind individuals is 70%.  For Deaf-Blind individuals, that rate is 80%.

By creating over 200 jobs for people with a visual disability, we are making a difference.  But making that difference depends on the dedicated support of individuals and organizations.

Our support services make it possible to create meaningful, sustainable jobs for our employees while enhancing their lives.

These services include assistive technology, computer training, braille literacy, mobility and travel safety, and our outreach through Deaf-Blind Community Classes and annual Deaf-Blind Retreat.

They require the effort and expertise of employees, technology, equipment, and training.  And, they require charitable funds to make them possible.

Every gift is welcomed by Seattle Lighthouse for the Blind Foundation.  Every gift helps create jobs, training opportunities, and the supports necessary for the Lighthouse to work toward its mission.   Every gift creates opportunities.
