Resources

Since 1918, The Lighthouse for the Blind, Inc. has created opportunities for people who are blind, DeafBlind, and blind with other disabilities through meaningful employment and services that support long-term independence and career growth.

We expand what’s possible in the workplace by developing accessible technologies, adapting processes, and providing targeted training that equips employees to succeed. Our team members demonstrate every day that vision loss is not a barrier to high performance or leadership, challenging outdated assumptions about who can thrive in today’s workforce.

More than half of our employees are blind, DeafBlind, or blind with other disabilities, shaping our culture of innovation and excellence. We invest in professional ASL interpreting services to foster clear communication and full inclusion for DeafBlind employees throughout our facilities and at Lighthouse events.

Through nearly a dozen training programs, customized workstations, and individualized support, we create pathways to advancement — resulting in economic mobility, confidence, and the power to build a self-directed future.

Volunteer Opportunities

We have opportunities in person or remote, one-time or continuing, in office or at an event, Seattle or Spokane — there is something for everyone. Make a difference today, Volunteer.

“Volunteering is a meaningful way for me to contribute. It feels good to know that simple tasks can help someone stay connected to important resources.  I do this in honor of my father and it’s been quite rewarding.”

— Sara Holcomb, Lighthouse Volunteer
